The film was created by artist Peggie Hartwell. Hartwell helped them tell their stories through quilting.

It has since screened around the U.S., and was accepted for distribution by the National Educational Television Association. In its first two years, it was aired 311 time in 64 markets across 27 States. The film will continue to be distributed nationwide by NETA.
